Judging the Situation

On Friday, a judge of the Oldham District Court (Louisville, Ky.) will hear arguments on Jonathan Blue's motion to oblige Charlie Strong – former University of Louisville head coach – to testify in Blue's divorce suit against his estranged wife.

Blue, a Louisville trustee and businessman, claims to require Strong's testimony – which seems to imply some damning evidence potentially being uncovered – as well as his cell phone records, to prove the behavior of Blue's wife, Tracy, was "inconsistent with being a role model and responsible caretaker." Blue's seeking an order for deposition, as well as return of assets, including a watch.

In what's basically a custody suit between the Blues, Strong, for all intents and purposes, might be asked to explain, with candor, his relationship with Tracy Blue. There are numerous scenarios possible. For one, and mainly, the judge could decide against Strong's deposition. Tracy Blue has her own legal avenues of diversion.

On his behalf, Strong could also present several reasons to object to the subpoena, including declination of providing personal materials, that he no longer has them, or the appearance (from Strong's position) of a possibly embarrassed and desperate Blue willing to destroy Strong, a non-party.

At this point, nothing can be called as no conclusions can be made. Whatever happens, this ugly state of affairs at least partially sullies Strong's strong winter – can't win for losing.

Hoops: Taylor's Clutch Ways

Rebounding from an ugly 78-64 blowout loss to Baylor, Isaiah Taylor came through with a monster three – once again – for struggling Longhorn squad, in Monday's 71-70 win at Kansas State.

The story has been the sudden disappearance of F/C Prince Ibeh's game. Over the last two games combined, Ibeh's tallied seven points, four rebounds, three turnovers, and one block – in 22 minutes. He's accumulated as many personal fouls (seven) as points – fouling out in nine minutes against Kansas State.

He's right under Taylor on the scouting reports – something perhaps he didn't know. The problem is that Ibeh's not adjusting to other teams' adjustments. He will need to locate that inside presence, before a huge Saturday showdown against No. 3 Oklahoma.
