The Texas Longhorns extended their unbeaten streak to six games (4-0-2) with a pair of shutout wins, 6-0 at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, and 2-0 victory over Montana. Freshman forward Olivia Brook had two goals and two assists in Corpus; with five goals in her first five games, she's off to the best start by any freshman in UT history. Senior defender Brooke Gilbert had a goal in each game, and now has a remarkable four goals on just five total shots. The Horns are in Florida this weekend for a pair of games, before returning to host the top-ranked defending national champion UCLA Bruins Sept. 19. Texas' early 2-2 draw with Arizona State is looking better, too; the Sun Devils shocked formerly No. 6 Texas A&M, 2-1 on Sunday.
The St. Edward's women are fourth in the nation after a pair of shutout wins to start the year; the men split a pair in Colorado, including a win at nationally ranked Fort Lewis.
