Rangers vs. Astros

AAA style

As all Central Texas baseball fans know, the Express switched affiliation this season from the Astros organization to the Rangers, with Houston moving their AAA squad to Oklahoma City. This week we've got excellent news for fans of both teams as the Oklahoma City RedHawks will be swooping into the Dell Diamond this Saturday for a four-game stint. As we go to press the Express is in the midst of a four-game road series vs. the RedHawks, with Round Rock taking the first game, 6-2. Express pitchers struck out 16 in the series opener, one short of the franchise best. Starter Neil Ramirez pitched five innings, allowing no earned runs and two hits, while striking out nine and picking up his second win of the season with no losses. Astros fans will see many familiar names in the RedHawks lineup: their roster includes such fan favorites as Tommy Manzella, Brian Bogusevic, Jordan Lyles, Wesley Wright, and Fernando Nieve as well as young first-bagger Koby Clemens (you may recognize the last name). Vs. Oklahoma City: Sat., April 23, 7:05pm; Sun., April 24, 1pm; Mon.-Tue., April 25-26, 7:05pm. Dell Diamond, 3400 E. Palm Valley, Round Rock, 512/255-2255. $6-30. www.roundrockexpress.com.
