Longhorns and Hilltoppers unbeaten streaks snap, and more

The UT and St. Edward's women each had eight-game unbeaten streaks snapped this week. The Long­horns lost at Texas A&M, 2-0 on Friday, before beating Baylor 1-0 Sunday. The Hilltoppers (after eight straight shutout wins) lost Sunday to Incar­nate Word. Both are home this week, St. Ed's hosting UT-Permian Basin, 1pm Satur­day and UT facing No. 16 Missouri, 7pm Friday ($3 Web coupon), and Kansas, 1pm Sunday.

Black Wednesday for British football, as both England and Scotland suffered big upsets in Euro 2008 qualifying, at Russia and Georgia, respectively; neither now looks likely to make it to next summer's tourney. Full analysis online.

The MLS regular season comes down to the last game, with four teams still hunting playoff spots, a head-to-head between Houston Dynamo and Chivas USA for the Western Conference title, David Beck­ham ready to perform off-the-deathbed heroics for a suddenly resurgent L.A. Galaxy – and the league can't even get a game onto expanded cable? The season-ending Galaxy at Chicago Fire game – Beckham against Cuauhtémoc Blanco, one goes on, one goes home – is on TeleFutura, 2pm Sunday.
