Die-In For Eric Garner at the University of Texas

University of Texas-Austin students and other protesters gather for a “Die-In” at the intersection of 21st Street and Speedway on UT campus. The event, held in solidarity with other demonstrations around the nation, is a response to a grand jury's decision not to indict the NYPD officer who choked and killed Staten Island resident, Eric Garner. At 12:15pm black protesters laid down for 15 minutes while “non-black allies” surrounded the intersection. UTPD blocked off traffic during the protest and no arrests were made.
