Foes Now Friends: Former mayoral candidates Todd Phelps (10%) and Randall Stephens (1.8%) have endorsed run-off candidate Steve Adler for mayor. Phelps said an Adler win is in the "best interest of preserving the culture and soul of Austin," while Stephens tweeted for Martinez to withdraw... On Monday, Adler held a "Latinos for Adler" rally, where Pct. 4 Commissioner Margaret Gómez endorsed him for mayor, and as did several defeated Council candidates, including... Rangel for Adler: Saying, "the mayor has the obligation to bring collaboration and compromise to City Hall," former District 3 candidate Eric Rangel (6.3%) endorsed Adler... D4 loser Marco Mancillas (.9%, 77 votes), who withdrew to endorse Laura Pressley just prior to election day, now throws all that support to Adler for mayor... D1 candidate Andrew Bucknall (6%) endorsed frontrunner Ora Houston in the run-off, Edmund "Ted" Gordon for AISD trustee (in AISD's D1, distinct from Council's 10-1), and (since D1 borders District 4), Greg Casar... Calling All Voters: The Austin Monitor reports some "old school" campaigning in District 3: a reporter startled at home by an outside loudspeaker, i.e., "a midsized sedan slowly driving down the street encouraging residents to vote via megaphone, and vote for [Susana] Almanza."... Also-ran Commentary: D5's Dave Floyd (5%) tweeted to D3's Shaun Ireland (6%), "The D3 run-off [between Susana Almanza and Sabino Renteria] does sound like a TV show plot"; Ireland responded, "Yeah, D3 had a chance to elect a reformer, but 2 of 5 voters decided to turn the election into "AUSTIN'S NEXT TOP RENTERIA"... Pledge This: Of the 17 candidates (of 78 running) who signed the "Citizens for Tax Relief Now" pledge calling for a homestead exemption and no tax increases, three survive: Laura Pressley (D4), Don Zimmerman (D6), and Ellen Troxclair (D8)... D5's Dan Buda (9%) posted a heartfelt concession message on Facebook thanking supporters and adding, with comic relief, that he hopes to finally discover these "weekends" that everyone keeps telling him about... "Fiscal conservative" Sheri Gallo has received the endorsement of two of her former opponents in D10: Matt Lamon, and Tea Party Republican Bill Worsham... Following Tuesday evening's run-off candidate forum hosted by KLRU (to air Nov. 13 at 8pm), Susana Almanza (21%) said her (slight) lead over brother Pio Renteria (18.8%) is a sign that the community is tired of the "good ol' boy system and the status quo." And she continues to frame her victory as a win for feminism: "I had 11 men challenge me and I was the only woman, and I still came out in first place – I think that's historical in itself," Almanza told Newsdesk... Diet Koch? Wednesday morning at Barton Springs Pool, mayoral candidate Mike Martinez addressed opponent Steve Adler's admission that his law firm has done work (yet unspecified) for the Koch Industries. "I think Steve Adler and his law firm are trying to cover up their Koch problem," Martinez said. In response, Adler says his law firm apparently did some work for Koch in the "Seventies and Eighties," when it was called Barron & Graham and he was not a partner...
