WilCo D.A.: Duty Upsets Bradley

By Jordan Smith, June 1, 2012, News

With a decisive 10-point spread, Williamson County Attorney Jana Duty pulled off an upset in the Republican primary to unseat current incumbent WilCo District Attorney John Bradley, who was seeking another term. Duty hammered Bradley with a campaign that focused on Bradley's role in blocking access to post-conviction DNA testing for Michael Morton, who was exonerated last year after spending nearly a quarter-century in prison for the 1986 murder of his wife, Christine. Bradley's resistance meant that the innocent Morton spent an additional six years in prison. Duty, who brought in 55% of the vote, will face Democratic challenger Ken Crain in November.
