Goodbye, Texas; Hello, Pennsylvania

What's next for the Netroots? Penn.

After last weekend's successful trip to Austin, the Netroots Nation convention announced that its next annual meet-up will be in Pittsburgh, Aug. 13-16, 2009. Praising Austin's "strong, vibrant Netroots community," interim Executive Director Raven Brooks said next year's convention will "have the opportunity to not only bring together existing local and regional progressive communities, but also help create new ones." Organizers stressed that environmental concerns, including the fact that Pittsburgh's David L. Lawrence Convention Center is the only Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified convention venue in the world, influenced their decision. Registration is now open at www.netrootsnation.com.
