  • The League of Women Voters will meet at 7pm Wednesday, April 5, to discuss the theory and practice of "sustainability," at the Keller-Williams training room in the Spyglass Point office building, 1801 South MoPac.   • Celebrate the birthday of late activist Cesar Chavez on Friday, March 31, with refreshments, entertainment, exhibits, and speakers, starting at 5:30pm at Las Manitas Cafe, 211 Congress.   • Rescue Health Care Day, a protest against limited doctor choice, restrictions on needed care, and other problems of the current health care system, is Saturday, April 1. The protest begins on the south steps of the Capitol at 11:30am. U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett will speak. For more info, call consumer advocate Sheri Larivee at 280-0072.

  • Peaceworks, a collaboration between the Austin Independent School District, violence prevention agencies, and Travis County officials, will observe the International Week Without Violence beginning Friday, March 31, when Ella Gandhi, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi, will speak from 1-2pm in Burdine 106, on the UT campus.
