Kreayshawn

Auditorium Shores, Nov. 3

Kreayshawn's like five-foot-one, thin as a pin, and she carried a cardboard box under her arm as she smiled and waved to the crowd on her way out, 15 minutes late. This is the new face of hip-hop? Hardly, but the Oakland, Calif., twerk rapper's hard to hate when you see her onstage. She jumps and she smiles, making sure to rap every word. After one song, "Left Ey3," she threw about six tacos from the cardboard box into the crowd. "I'm just gonna, like, chuck these things, okay?" Then she turned to trace the sun and said, "It's right on me right now." The whole bit was actually amusing. Kreay's earnest and comfortable. Her hype man's bouncing off the walls. And at the end she played "Gucci Gucci." "We need more people to twerk it," she said. Alright Kreay, you got it. I'll twerk.
