Lo 21 Farewell Mr. Familiar (Ropeadope)Some soundtracks don't have films, including Fumihito Sugawara's scoring of this story of Keizo Sasaki, a "salaryman" borne into a cycle of tedium. Austinite by way of Japan, Sugawara primarily utilizes abstract jazz guitar with a healthy amount of reverb, piano, and touches of electronic accompaniment. The wide-open spaces and textures are occasionally sleepy, but frequently inspired.
