GET A LITTLE CLOSER

The Rapture vocalist/guitarist Luke Jenner and bassist Mattie Safer get in each other's face during their outdoor Stubb's show Monday night. Following a sensual, engrossing hour from California bad boys Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the Jersey quartet turned in a set that was equal parts Jenner's overcaffeinated energy, utility man Gabe Andruzzi's Casio abuse, and Safer's unrelenting disco thump. An encore of the Psychedelic Furs' "Dumb Waiters" won them bonus points from the few on hand old enough to remember the original.
