Honky-tonk Crowd

March 20, 1998, Music

The fun's not over 'til the last dogie is herded into the pen. And that's not going to happen until late Sunday, March 22. There's still so much to do at the Austin-Travis County Livestock Show & Rodeo between now and Sunday.

The Carnival Midway and Kiddie Carnival begin at noon each day. The Rodeo Marketplace, a trade show with a hee-haw twist, is open 10am-10pm each day.

Kids' Town opens at 10am every morning with a variety of activities and entertainment not just for kids, like the Wild Science Chemistry & Physics show (awesome Rube Goldbergs and live demos for your gadget geeks), Elsie the Cow, the Great American Petting Zoo (featuring wallabies, wee piggies, hungry deer, and other domestic beasts), Korky the Clown, Randall's High Diving Pigs, a Living Taco Farm, and so much more. Check the day's schedule for events and competitions throughout Kids' Town.

Each night (and weekend afternoon), the L.J. Luedecke Rodeo Arena is host to the rodeo proper. The Rodeo begins at 7:30pm on Thursday and Friday, at 2pm and 7:30pm (two shows) on Saturday, and the last roundup at 4pm on Sunday. Each show includes the following events and is wrapped up with big-name entertainment (see schedule after rodeo events list).
