Austin Acoustic Music Festival '95
Fri., Nov. 17, 1995
Last year, a staggering 1,650 people turned out over three days to see a hefty
cross section of Austin's radically diverse music community do it unplugged at
the Electric Lounge. And despite slightly shorter hours this year (Friday 17,
7pm-2am; Saturday 18, 3pm-2am; Sunday 3pm-1am), organizers are expecting
another big turn-out for year five of this humble little festival which gets
more popular each fall. Besides the four dozen artists performing, look also in
the lounge area for the photo/art exhibit, featuring some of Austin's finest
visual artists. Tickets for this non-profit festival (part of this year's
proceeds will benefit the S.I.M.S. Foundation) are available at Waterloo
Records and through AusTix (499-TIXS), and are $6 advance, $7 at the door, and
$16 for three-day passes. Who says pulling the plug on the Electric Lounge
isn't a good thing?
