Pump Project

702 Shady
The bright yellow warehouse on Shady Lane in East Austin is a co-operative art space that has doubled as an art gallery and a space for artist studios since it started in 2005 as Shady Tree Studios. From an industrial space with just a few artists, Pump Project has grown into a venue with 23 private and shared studios that house more than 30 artists and craftspeople and a 1,000 square-foot gallery, which doubles as a studio for live model drawing group. Exhibitions range from group shows by community organizations and educational institutions to some of the most cutting-edge produced in Austin today.
