Modern Rocks Gallery

At Modern Rocks Gallery in East Austin’s Canopy complex, we can be heroes just for one day. The brainchild of touring musician turned concert photographer turned gallery owner, Steven Walker, the gallery is a haven for rock fans to go backstage with some of their favorite music legends. The gallery is home to exclusive photos of David Bowie, Nirvana, and the Rolling Stones, among others, which Walker curated from the photographers themselves. On permanent display are outtakes from the underwater shoot for Nirvana’s Nevermind album cover and the archive of longtime Austin City Limits photographer Scott Newton.
