Local Ameripolitan Dale Watson saved Ginny’s Little Longhorn Saloon in 2013, and preserved what has made the small Northside honky-tonk so special since Ginny Kalmbach took over the half-century-old mainstay in 1982. The tiny hole in the wall still packs in less than 100, making for intimate shows nightly on the tight dance floor, but it’s the incomparable atmosphere and local crowd that spills into the parking lot that make the space special, including the legendary Sunday rounds of Chicken Shit Bingo.
