• The Texas Fall Fest & Wine Auction celebrates the best in Hill Country wine and food, beginning with a sip and stroll event featuring wineries, restaurants, and artisanal food makers on Friday evening at the Quail Point Lodge resort in Horseshoe Bay. On Saturday, the event moves to historic downtown Marble Falls for the Trail o' Food Progressive Stroll through three boutiques, a dinner prepared by chef Lou Lambert, and a wine auction. Fredericksburg proudly salutes its German heritage with an Oktober­fest celebration on the Marktplatz. Enjoy food, beer, authentic German costumes, arts & crafts, plus plenty of music and dancing. › The Sustainable Food Center's Farmers' Market at Sunset Valley moves to the Home Depot parking lot off Brodie Lane for one week only. Saturday, Oct. 1, 9am-1pm.

› Austin gastronome Kathryn Hutchison is organizing a multilocation charity bake sale to benefit the Central Texas Wildfire Fund. › The Flying Saucer (815 W. 47th) hosts its annual BeerFeast under tents in Triangle Park with food trucks, live music, and 10 beer samples for $30. Saturday, Oct. 1.

› Concerned about the amount of genetically modified organisms making their way into our food supply? Speak out in favor of mandatory labeling at the Rally for Real Food on the south steps of the Texas Capitol building. Sunday, Oct. 2, noon-3pm.
