• Austin's inaugural Fleadh (Gaelic festival) will be held at the Fourth Street Fort (216 E. Fourth) with live music from Irish bands, fish 'n' chips, meat pies, Guinness, and Harp. Hosted by Irishman Frank Murray, the event is free and open to the public. RSVP at www.rareaustin.com/fleadh.html. Wednesday, March 17, noon-10pm.

Jack Allen's Kitchen (7720 Hwy. 71 W., 852-8558, www.jackallenskitchen.com) hosts a St. Patrick's Day happy hour party on its patio with live music, house-cured corned beef, Jameson Irish Whiskey, and Convict Hill Stout from Independence Brewing. Wednesday, March 17, 3-7pm.

East Meets Fest this time every year in the parking lot at Uchi (801 S. Lamar, 916-4808, www.uchiaustin.com) with free live music and Japanese street food for sale. Saturday, March 20, 11am-3pm.

• Central Market (4001 N. Lamar, 206-1000) rings in the Persian New Year with a Nowruz Festival. Entertainment will be provided by UT's Middle Eastern ensemble Bereket, the 1001 Nights Orchestra, and Atash on the outdoor patio. Persian holiday food items will be for sale on the cafe menu. Saturday, March 20, 4-9pm.

• Chef Lawrence Kocurek will teach you everything you need to know to prepare your own Easter rabbit dinner. Class is $85 per person; make necessary reservations at 291-4461 or [email protected]. Sunday, March 21, 1-4pm.

• Houston's Berry Fairy, aka Jenny Wang, brings another of her famous miracle berry flavor tripping parties to Emo's (603 Red River) this weekend. Buy $20 tickets at www.emos austin.com. Sunday, March 21, 3-5pm.
