• Hosteria Verde supper club chef John Cain will create a late spring dinner to be served in the garden at the American Botanical Council (6200 Manor Rd., www.herbalgram.org). $65, BYOB. Make necessary reservations at www.hosteriaverde.com; if you miss this dinner, the two other very inviting events already scheduled for June are filling up fast! Sunday, May 31, 7pm.
• Olivia (2043 S. Lamar, 804-2700, www.olivia-austin.com) chef/owner James Holmes will prepare a five-course Brewer's Dinner paired with craft brews from Real Ale Brewing Company of Blanco, using each of the selected brews in his dishes, as well. $50 per person; reservations are necessary. (While you're there, check out the new three-course $38 prix-fixe menu offered Sunday-Tuesday. Monday, June 1, 7pm.
