• Members of Austin's Les Dames d'Escoffier chapter will host an old-fashioned cakewalk at the Downtown Farmers' Market (Fourth & Guadalupe) this weekend. Contestants can win pies, cakes, cookies, and cupcakes made by some of Austin's finest culinary talents, and they'll also have the opportunity to purchase signed copies of the new Les Dames cookbook. Saturday, Dec. 20, 10am.

Whisk Handcrafted Cuisine (4238 Bee Caves Rd., 329-6405, www.whiskaustin.com) hosts a tasty event where chefs Linda Waller and Jacob Zavala will prepare a sumptuous six-course feast paired with wines from Serendipity Wine Imports. $85 per person, and reservations are necessary. Saturday, Dec. 20, 7pm.
