The event is free and open to the public. For more details and the full schedule, go to www.chinatownaustin.com. Saturday, Sept. 22, 11am-11pm, and Sunday, Sept. 23, 11am-5pm.

Eastside Cafe (2113 Manor Rd., 494-1464) and Edible Austin magazine invite early-rising gardeners to the first ever Crack of Dawn Garden Party benefiting Urban Roots. Bring your own gardening gloves, a gardening tool, and a lawn chair, and they'll provide the garden, the compost, the plants, and a gardening seminar, plus coffee, water, and muffins while you work. Reservations are necessary, and a $20 donation to Urban Roots is suggested. Saturday, Sept. 22: workshop, 7:30-10:30am; party, 10:30am-noon.
