Brunch in Austin

Z'Tejas Grill

1110 West Sixth, 478-5355

9400 Arboretum Blvd., 346-3506

Brunch Menu, Sat-Sun, 11am-3pm, reservations accepted for large parties

Whether you're sitting on the deck in their downtown hillside treehouse or taking in the stunning Hill Country view from the patio of their Arboretum location, Z'Tejas makes a great place for brunch. It's possible to stuff yourself with spicy Southwestern specialties washed down with mimosas or stellar margaritas without putting a serious dent in your wallet. Among our favorites here are the Breakfast Enchiladas ($6.50), corn tortillas stacked with smoked chicken, Jack cheese, and red chile salsa topped with two eggs, any style, served with a side of black beans, and the Navajo Eggs ($6.75), in which eggs are scrambled with flavorful chorizo, peppers, onions, and cheese and served on a bed of crunchy fried spinach on crisp Navajo fry bread. Another sure winner is their very credible version of Huevos Rancheros ($6.75), two eggs cooked to your specifications and garnished with Jack cheese, fiery fresh salsa, avocado slices, and a side of black beans. Omelette lovers can opt for smoked chicken ($6.75) or spicy Cajun Ham ($6.75) with cayenne honey mustard. All entrées come with homefried potatoes, fresh fruit, and homemade muffins. For those who find themselves hungry for lunch, a limited lunch menu is also available.
