Openings and closings

Joe Sullivan, owner of House Park BBQ (900 W. 12th, 472-9621), called last week to say that he's back on his feet and pain-free for the first time in years after successful hip replacement surgery, and House Park BBQ is smokin' once again... The day after Christmas was the last retail business day for J.P Hayes, owner of Sgt. Pepper's Hot Sauce. A low-profile location and the time constraints of a busy one-man operation prompted Hayes to close his small retail outlet. Fans of his line of salsa products should not despair, however. Closing the store will give the salsa entrepreneur more time for product development and marketing of his personal line of condiments... Texadelphia is not just on the Drag anymore. Founder Joel Stanley owns the shops on Guadalupe and the UT campus and formed the Quintessence Corporation ([email protected]) to franchise the Texadelphia concept a couple of years ago. Franchisers with the Quay Restaurant Group have outlets in Houston and Dallas, and this month they've opened the latest Austin Texadelphia in the Arboretum area at 9828 Great Hills Trail, Ste. 140 (338-1338)... The newest meal delivery service in town is Austin Naturals Delivers (447-6885), under the direction of Ken Bishop, who learned the meal delivery trade as an employee of the now-defunct Entrees on Trays. Austin Naturals will deliver meals from Mr. Natural, Healthy Food Express, Bombay Grill, Hunan Lion, Star of India, Oka's Tokyo Steak House & Sushi Bar, Texas Rib Kings, and Webb Farms Produce & Plants. Call Bishop for ordering information.
