Dear Editor, The criticism of the Austin Convention Center redevelopment could be solved with the addition of solar energy. A major criticism of the remodeling of the Austin Convention Center is that the remodel is funded by taxes yet provides no value to the local community. I believe that there is a great solution to this problem in the addition of solar panels along the roof of the Convention Center. This energy could be used by the local community for a reduced rate through the programs run by Austin Energy. This way the residents of Austin will be able to see a return on investment of their taxes and have a practical purpose for the convention center for the locals. These solar panels can be funded by the IRA bill which helps provide tax benefits to people who use solar power and implement solar panels.
