Re: Hays County Inmate

RECEIVED Fri., Sept. 2, 2022

Dear Editor,
I came upon the story of Benitez-Royalez [sic] and his wounded leg. [“Hays County Inmate Is Left to Rot in Jail,” News, Aug. 19] Why is there no information about the police officer he assaulted? The convict looks extremely strong in the photo you printed and was clearly not afraid to attack a police officer. Frankly, I don’t empathize with him.
Anyone assaulting a police officer should get a minimum of 20 years in jail. The public has put up with actions like his for several years. I have been in Austin several times, but have no desire to return if its citizens behave like him.
Your paper is clearly not up to printing complete, truthful stories.
