Dear Editor,
I know I’m commenting rather late on this article, but I do want to take the time to thank Robert Faires for writing what has to be hands down,
the best thing written about my work here in Austin. Considering that he never spoke to me directly, he did his research well, but most of the article was written from his observations of my work, and he certainly “gets” where I’m coming from. I’ve always been a “lone wolf” when it comes to the mural work I’ve done in ATX. Sure, I’ve done work with the Mexican-Arte Museum, and have collaborated with other artists before, but I’ve always circumvented the traditional paths of getting messages out, especially during these times of COVID. It's just too damn bad that the shadow of Parkinson’s robs me of strength and focus, for I wish I would be able to give the city of Austin so much more.
And speaking of the P word, give an extra helping of “Thank you”s to Robert Faires for waiting to mention my condition till the end of the article, for it is nice to have someone write about how tough it can be to get anything done under those circumstances!
Again, thank you mucho much for the shoutout!
