An ARIC Question

RECEIVED Fri., Sept. 11, 2020

Dear Editor,
This morning I read the article “ARIC: Black Marchers With Guns?” [News, Sept. 11]. I appreciate the work the Chronicle is doing to report on the ARIC data. While reading this article, a question came to mind. Did the ARIC have similar bulletins on any of the many pro-gun, primarily white, marches that have happened in Austin? It seems every year in Austin we have some group marching at the Capitol showing off their guns and shouting about the Second Amendment. If there are NOT any bulletins in the ARIC regarding other pro-gun marches, I think that would be helpful information to include in an article like this. It would reinforce the racist undertone if only Black gun owners are being looked at with special scrutiny.
Thank you,
Chris
