You Blew It

RECEIVED Mon., June 10, 2019

Dear Editor,
What were you thinking? One of Austin's three most famous musicians (the other two – Willie and Stevie) in the WORLD, and no cover story? Everybody was waiting for one from you, and I must say – you blew it. Roky's musical contemporary Doug Sahm got the cover when he passed. Stevie did. Biscuit got the cover.
He was a longtime member of your Hall of Fame.
Roky easily earned such an honor. He was one of our hometown heroes. He was internationally beloved. And, he was a Texas gentleman; the best of manners; polite; a teacher; and an example of what it means to persevere. Our most sincere condolences to his mother, Evelyn; his wife, Dana; his children, and brothers.
Thank you, Roky, for being a shining example of the adage “Keep on keepin' on!” We will miss you!
    Bless your soul, friend. Farewell!
p.s. Say hi to Stacy Sutherland and Danny Galindo for us! And Benny Thurman ….
Sincerely,
Jack Pott
