Dear Editor,
Did a reviewer in the
Chronicle really just call out an actress for having small boobs? Regarding the review of
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof [Arts, Nov. 23] – "But his sexual ambivalence comes across as an absence of sexuality because Kelso's Maggie gives him little to play with (literally)." Come on,
Chronicle, I realize the play was written in the 20th century, but most of us today agree that a female actress needs to do more than jiggle her boobies to pay homage to an amazingly complex character. I think someone should have a serious conversation with Mr. Abelman on what feminism is and why women are not just there for his viewing pleasure.
