Mourning Our Losses

RECEIVED Sat., Sept. 15, 2018

Dear Editor,
Thanks for your timely article but this really saddens me and those of us who have lived here for more than a nanosecond. In the past few weeks we’ve learned about the closing of: the Frisco, Hill's Cafe, Threadgill's and now Frank & Angie's. Before that it was El Gallo. If Austin can offer all kinds of incentives to get new businesses to come here why can’t they offer incentives to get businesses to stay here? These are Austin originals, mainstays, and Austin markers. We’re losing them as fast as we can blink our eyes and they’re gone. I hope we can see some of these places in a food trailer somewhere in town. That’s better than them going away altogether. Thanks.
