Dear Editor,
I believe the sentiments conveyed by Mr. King in his June 8 article titled "Suffer the Little Children," which ends with the New Testament quote attributed to Jesus. Incorporating that refrain equally applies to an article starting on that same page by Mary Tuma titled "SCOTUS Rules Jane Doe Abortion Case 'Moot'." In the aforementioned King article, the Trump administration is castigated as cruel for ripping children away from their families, yet the article by Tuma celebrates upholding an undocumented minor's right to have a child ripped from her womb. Often scripture gets used by folks not really interested in the heart of Jesus, but only to bolster a political stance they support in one area/instance while completely ignoring the same principle when it should be applied consistently in another area/instance. How sad that such selective enlistment of divine inspiration (regardless of one's political affiliation/leaning) results in a lot of suffering for little children.
