Set Up to Fail

RECEIVED Wed., Aug. 9, 2017

Dear Editor,
Do you have the power and influence to do something about the formerly-the-Aztex moving to COTA? I am thrilled to hear they will be back. But not so thrilled I will schlep out there. I believe the awful location is setting them up to fail.

A Study in Contrasts

RECEIVED Thu., Aug. 3, 2017

Dear Editor,
The "Headlines" for Aug. 4 [News] were a study in contrasts. In one paragraph we learned about 400 faulty police cruisers leaking toxic carbon monoxide and poisoning our police officers. In the next paragraph we learned that Austin Energy is bringing 200 megawatts of wind energy into the grid. I long for the day when our police department boasts an all-electric fleet that’s powered by 100% renewable energy from Austin Energy.
To see that day come sooner, join me, your friends, and your neighbors in the Austin chapter of Citizens' Climate Lobby (www.citizensclimatelobby.org) to lobby for a carbon fee and dividend program.
