Tired of Negative Campaigning

RECEIVED Wed., Oct. 30, 2013

Dear Editor,
I live in House District 50 and have received many calls, fliers, and letters in the mail from candidates running for the HD 50 House of Representatives seat. All of these but the ones from Jade Chang Sheppard were positive and informative. She sent us three separate full-color fliers telling us not to vote for Celia Israel, and her reasons were not meaningful to me. She never said anything about who she is or why we should vote for her. I wondered why someone would spend that much money to print and mail such expensive fliers just to trash someone else. Her website does not give much information about her either. I actually wondered if she is really trying to get [Rico] Reyes or the North Austin chiropractor [Mike VanDeWalle] elected. Whatever her reasons, I am strongly against, and very tired of, negative campaigning for any office.
