Dear Editor, With Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta declaring that the military shall officially open combat-related positions and promotions to women, I believe that this should include Selective Service. If women are to be included in combat positions, then they should be required to go through the joys and hassles of registering with the Selective Service at age 18 and keeping it up-to-date through the age of 26, just like all American men are currently required to do. Otherwise, the Selective Service should be done away with entirely.
