An Equitable Solution to Gay/Straight Union

Dear Editor,
    I propose President Obama and the incoming Congress amend all government documents replacing the word "marriage" with "civil union" and legalize civil unions between any two consenting adults of legal age. What constitutes a marriage is thus left to the churches to decide.
