'Dialoguer' To Defend Liberty

RECEIVED Fri., Sept. 24, 2010

Dear Editor,
Louis actually admits that his “delusional nightmares” could include leftism. Oh, I know he often throws little bones like that out there just so he can appear open-minded and tolerant. And his comments regarding Fox and al Jazeera clearly show his leftist bias [“Page Two,” Sept. 17]. He’s a leftist.
However, any serious thinker will recognize that Louis (albeit possibly subconsciously) may be the latest leftist to dare to rationally debate the great existential philosophical divide between liberty preserving American conservatism and liberty obliterating leftism. And that takes some moral courage because his leftist tribe would freak – and he knows it.
That said, Louis’ charge that my “ranting” is anything but “dialogue” is untrue. Indeed, I’ll “dialogue” to defend liberty and American exceptionalism anytime! Louis’ accusations blatantly project his own willful solipsistic refusal to suffer dissent. And the thought that he might have to admit that leftist dogma is mortally pernicious is more than his ego can stand.
Moreover, American conservative ideals are supported by the greatest objective thinkers in history, e.g., Jesus, Socrates, Cicero, Plutarch, Washington, Adams, Franklin, and Lincoln, etc. And who champions leftism? Marx, Nietzsche, Chomsky, Zinn, Michael Moore. Oy! And that doesn’t even include infamous leftist monster tyrants such as Lenin, Stalin, and Mao. Its heroes alone prove the “big lie” of leftism. And Louis is completely aware of this. So forget open debate.
Socrates’ profound advice applies – it isn’t “McDonald’s” words that are irrefutable; it’s objective facts that are irrefutable. The immutable bottom line is that wisdom and truth must inform liberty, America, and civilization. Leftism is proven to be morally and intellectually bankrupt. It’s the subjective road to the horrors of despotism. And in this time of tyranny rising, e.g., Islamist Iranian and al Qaeda barbarism and Chinese fascism, clarity is existentially critical.
