Re: “Sound of the City” [Earache! Music blog, Jan. 13]: Great interview. I love listening to the things that Black has to say. You can tell he is intelligent and has an immense passion for music and its many aspects. As a fellow Detroiter, it's obvious that our community as a whole is experiencing the drastic effects of the recession due to the collapse of the auto industry and the highest unemployment rate in the nation. I feel that, with all of the negative things that are associated with our city, Black Milk gives us something positive that we can be proud of. I realize that this performance already took place, but I just wanted to share how much pride we have for the music that comes out of Detroit thanks to artists like Black Milk. I am sure that the people of Austin enjoyed him there as much as we do back home.
