Uncle Sam and His Sycophants

Dear Editor,
For Uncle Sam and his sycophants to scrutinize Iran on nuclear proliferation is like an alcoholic lecturing a teenager on drinking a beer. The U.S. has more than 6,000 nuclear warheads, while Israel, which allows no inspections and likes to keep a tight secret, owns at least 200. Think Iran is the only country in the Middle East with some crazies in power? A handful on the Likud right are itching to press the red button on Tehran.
Why not clean up our own stockpiles for starters? Without that first step, the U.S. and a dozen or so powers with the bomb have absolutely no moral authority to lean on others who so much as enrich a little uranium.
