Archaic Language Does Group Wrong

RECEIVED Tue., April 7, 2009

Dear Editor,
Re: “Original Titty-Tax Bill Loses Bounce,” News, April 3: Richard Whittaker's labeling of the Texas Entertainment Association as "the strip-joint trade group" is dated at best, disrespectful at worst. Whether or not Mr. Whittaker chose to pepper his writing with archaic Seventies slang or you chose to print it, the correct term is "strip club" and has been since at least 1986, when I was first hired in one.
