Impeach Bush and Cheney

RECEIVED Wed., April 9, 2008

Dear Editor,
The administration continues its Iraq canine and equine performance at the Senate hearings this week. And the senators keep enabling them by avoiding the moral questions at the heart of our Iraqi occupation. Here's the question I'd like to ask Gen. David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker at the Senate hearings:
If the police had information that there was illegal activity going on in your house, and they broke in the door and killed some family members and then discovered they had been wrong, would you think it was all right for them to stay, guns at the ready, until everything was hunky-dory again?
The Downing Street Memo proves that "the police" made up the bogus information about Iraq. America's proper course is to impeach President Bush and Vice President Cheney, apologize profusely (sackcloth and ashes would not be inappropriate for our legislators), and get the hell out as quickly as possible.
