Oppose Wal-Mart

RECEIVED Fri., Dec. 22, 2006

Austin citizens,
I would like to reiterate that Wal-Mart at Northcross is not just a North Austin issue. It affects all Austinites equally. We should support our North Austin friends wholeheartedly. We must unite together as a community and protect one another’s back yards. You can do your part by visiting www.rg4n.org. Volunteer your time, download a bumper sticker and put it on your vehicle, and if you are able, cash donations are always much appreciated. Austin as a city should collectively oppose Wal-Mart at Northcross. If you’ve been disheartened by recent city of Austin issues, then this is the appropriate time to let your voice be heard. I urge concerned Austinites to e-mail City Council members and let them know you completely oppose Wal-Mart at Northcross. Instructions on how to contact City Council members can be found through www.austinfullcircle.org. And for those Austinites who are not currently registered to vote please visit www.traviscountytax.org/goVoters.do for instructions on how to register. When elected officials hear opposition from registered voters, it makes the issue (to them) more genuine. Absolutely anything you can do is helpful. Shop local. Get involved. This initial step will empower Austinites in the (11) forthcoming dealings with Wal-Mart. Let’s not succumb before the battle. We must apply pressure. We must remain steadfast in our fight to honor our city values. We must take Austin back.
Sincere regards,
Colette Michalec
