Thank You for Helping Peace

Dear Louis Black, Lee Nichols, and Austin Chronicle staff,
    We wanted to send y'all a big "thanks" for getting time-critical information onto p.76 in last week's edition on extremely short notice for the With Love From Austin to Lebanon emergency food and clothing drive, sponsored by the local ADC.org and Instruments for Peace [Community Listings, Aug. 25].
    I wanted to pass along that several cars that pulled into the South Austin '04 drop-off point mentioned specifically they'd found out about the drive by reading the Ongoing Events Community Calendar.
    The citizens of Austin, as always, responded generously with donations of warm clothing, food, and children and baby items. The items donated will leave the port of Houston this week and be in Lebanon very soon.
