Doesn't Need Facts to Buy What Administration Is Selling: He Believes!

RECEIVED Mon., Aug. 7, 2006

Dear Editor,
Sean Ragan's response [“Postmarks,” Aug. 4] to my July 14, 2006 “Postmarks” letter, Black Maligns America, reveals deadly naivete. In our post-September 11, 2001 world, anyone unable to identify a “strategic connection” between the war crimes committed against America on that terrible day and our war efforts in Iraq does not comprehend the genocidal lethality of the Islamist fascist enemy we now face.
Saddam Hussein was allied with bin Laden and trained al Qaeda terrorists. He sponsored numerous Islamist terrorist attacks and actively sought the weaponry to continue his efforts to destroy the free world. While Hussein was portrayed as secular, he applauded and joined the genocidal mission of barbarian Islamist jihad. He was directly aligned with the goal of Islamist world domination as professed by bin Laden, al Qaeda, the Iranian Mullahs, and their minions.
Since September 11, 2001, America has been at war with the forces of Islamist fascism who strive to tyrannize all not bowing to their medieval conception of Islam. If their malevolent objective is achieved, Americans and Jews will be first to face the executioner's blade. This world war is no less existential than the war against German Nazism. If America shrinks from this genocidal threat, the Islamist jihadi storm will obliterate civilization.
I am certain Sean Ragan is well-intentioned. However, on this crucial issue, this person is hopelessly lost. Ragan's good intentions, in turn, become the pavement on the road to hell. America and the free world are in a mortal struggle for the future of humanity. While this conflict is frightening and painful, we must gather our courage to acknowledge the true nature of the Islamist fascist enemy. As with the threat of German Nazism, victory must be ours or posterity is doomed.

[Louis Black responds: Mr. McDonald, I don't really want to get into this, but outside of a handful of substantiated but minor contacts, I suspect folks would want to know your source for these statements which the current administration doesn't stand behind anymore: "Saddam Hussein was allied with bin Laden and trained al Qaeda terrorists. He sponsored numerous Islamist terrorist attacks and actively sought the weaponry to continue his efforts to destroy the free world. While Hussein was portrayed as secular, he applauded and joined the genocidal mission of barbarian Islamist jihad. He was directly aligned with the goal of Islamist world domination as professed by bin Laden, al Qaeda, the Iranian Mullahs, and their minions."]
