DeLay's 'Seat'

RECEIVED Thu., April 6, 2006

Dear Editor,
At last, Tom DeLay has rendered some real public service. He's resigning. Predictably, he blamed "liberal Democrats" for all his problems. What else would a lying jerk say?
I thought it was interesting that one of his stated reasons for resigning now was to keep a Democrat from "stealing" his seat. The Democrat he's referring to is Nick Lampson, who was previously a U.S. representative until DeLay "stole" his seat by gerrymandering Lampson's district.
But I'm confident that District Attorney Ronnie Earle will take good care of DeLay's "seat.” I think his "seat" will wind up ensconced on a metal bed frame hanging from the wall of a cell. And after that, he can begin serving time for his Abramoff dealings. With any luck, his "seat" in prison should be secure for years to come.
