Thanks

RECEIVED Wed., Dec. 8, 2004

Dear Editor,
As I trekked through the crowd of 8,000 runners at Waterloo Park who were stretching and warming up on a beautifully clear Thanksgiving morning, I was overwhelmed by a sense of gratitude for the continued support of ThunderCloud Subs and the people of Austin. This is the 14th consecutive year that ThunderCloud Subs has generously chosen Caritas to be the recipient of 100% of the proceeds from the Turkey Trot.
The folks at Caritas are especially grateful to Mike Haggerty, owner of ThunderCloud Subs, for his generosity, and to the thousands of people in the Austin community who make it a family tradition to run, jog, and stroll in the Turkey Trot year after year.
Last year’s proceeds from the Turkey Trot bought groceries for 1,100 families, helped feed 13,000 hot lunches, helped 325 families maintain their homes, and kept 650 homes warm.
Again, thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Turkey Trot a "runaway" success!
Sincerely,
Julia Spann
Executive director
