Standiford Owns the Bible, Talks to God, Decides Who Is a Believer and Who Isn't, and Feels Hating Others Is the True Way, so Don't Disagree With Him!

RECEIVED Fri., Jan. 30, 2004

Editor,
Thank God that we wayward Christians have St. Louis Black (who doubles as an editor, if not a wizened scribe) to bore us with his hedonistic, self-serving, biblical proof-texing ("Page Two," Jan.30).
The Rev. Black would have you believe that agreeing with the Bible, or even trying to make sense of it, is an evil act of judgment that will leave you standing to be judged in the great by and by. Black the Elder would write that repentance is not a prerequisite for forgiveness. Black should have a huge problem with his almighty secular humanistic counts-of-law, which forgive and judge with erratic impunity. Judgment, however, is something we all do every day, so what kind of judgment is the wrong kind? Louis Black has judged that a woman's right to choose (to kill an unborn baby) is a different kind of judgment than those who judge that that behavior is murder. Two judgments: Both can't be right. So logic would suggest that it's a wrong judgment, or judgment-in-error, that is the evil judgment. Jesus made many judgments and he forgave those who repented. What do you think happened to the secular humanistic church elders who Jesus called "murderers, hypocrites, snakes, vipers" etc.?! I fully expect to be judged Mr. Black, and I rejoice in the fact that your judgment couldn't be more meaningless. The way Black mocks "those who are so close to God" is proof that he isn't. St. Black clearly hates every aspect of Christianity that doesn't fall in line with his hedonistic, manipulative, sodomite-apologist agenda – which is my observation, as opposed to a judgment. Further, it's a despicable disgrace that Black can't see the difference between murdering an unborn child and killing a convicted murderer. Progressive liberals have a serious problem with the red herring attempt to justify one wrong by addressing another wrong as equal or worse. (My parents never fell for that one, how about yours?) Well, here's a Bible verse for you to chew on, Black; "Woe to you ye scribes and teachers of the law; you don't acknowledge the Truth and you hide it from others." I wonder if aiding and abetting a criminal activity is worse than blatant heresy, pray tell St. Black. The church no longer burns heretics at the stake, for good or ill. But rest assured if I ever have a question concerning Christian theology I won't consult some condescending progressive shill like St. Black.
