SPRINGTIME IN PEREZ It's on. The grand duchess of online gossip hisself, Perez Hilton, will host Perez Hilton's One Night in Austin. The delightful Robyn opens at 10pm, and half-hour sets commence featuring N.E.R.D. and Meiko, among others. It's invite only, and you would have had to have registered online before now. But you never know. Check his site. Dang. Sat., March 15, the Palm Door, 401 Sabine, 391-1994. www.perezhilton.com/ 2008-03-14-one-night-in-austin-11.

DOG & DUCK-FRIENDLY Totally free. Totally credential-free, to boot. That means you don't need a badge, fool. Pop Culture Press hosts its annual pop and garage and noise party at the Dog & Duck. SO CLOSE, YET SO FARRRRR OUT! The two queer clubs closest to the Convention Center are hosting the last days of their own live music fests. Austin's superfriendly leather bar, the Chain Drive, is throwing SXS&M, and the Cockpit Club hosts ATXTREME 2008. We guarantee both to be the loci of local honeys and pleasure/curiosity seekers in for the conference. SXS&M: Sat., March 15. Chain Drive, 504 Willow, 480-9017. Free. www.myspace.com/1chaindrive, www.myspace.com/chaindrivemusicevents. ATXTREME: Sat., March 15, 2pm-2am. The Cockpit Club, 113 San Jacinto, 457-8010. www.atxtreme.com.

GAY BI GAY GAY That name makes us think of Duck Duck Goose or the count-off of our junior high basketball team. Whoa. For the past two years, some fabulous folks on the Eastside, who also happen to be tied into Austin's premier queer and etc., monthly talent show CampCamp, have opened up their back yard to a new SX Sunday tradition: Invite all the queer bands in town for the weekend, invite all your friends, and invite the rest of town, then turn it up to 11ty-and-a-half. Carry your cute homo ass to one hell of a house party with some fine performers: Dynasty Handbag, Jenny Hoyston, the Shondes, Stanley Roy & the Pig ***kers (we put in those three asterisks because we like to pretend the name is really "Oinkers"), Scream Club, Men, Nicky Click, Manny & the Brokeback Boys, and Katy Koonce, just to name a few. Plus! An opium den full of gay shorts (of the filmic variety). Answering that other musical question about SXSW: What's a queer to do on Sunday? Go to Kitty, and find out. Sun., March 16, 10am. 4604 Kitty (just south of MLK & Springdale). Free. [email protected], www.myspace.com/gaybigaygay.

MYSPACE IS FOR QUEERS Queers named Gay Place. Yup. We are on the MySpace, unabashed in our quest to crack 2,499. (Who said "ho"?) We'd be proud to have you as our friend. We hate to see you leave Austin, really we do. But all good bacchanalian street orgies must come to an end. Please stay in touch, and look us up next time you are in our locality. 512/454-5766. [email protected], www.myspace.com/gayplace.
