Dovzhenko's wartime documentary incorporates footage of the invasion of the Ukraine taken by German cameramen but later captured by the Soviets. The film includes scenes of the counterattack, as well as scenes of the battlefield cooperation between Ukrainian and Czechoslovakian troops.
