This 1973 film has only recently been released in the U.S. Stunningly photographed and incredibly violent, Female Convict Scorpion is one of the most brutal and rousing woman-in-prison pictures ever filmed. The prisoner is a fount of violence herself, despite being hosed down and gang-raped in prison before breaking out with a crew of other women. She is indestructible and capable of meting out horrendous retaliations of her own. Her band of sisters are no milder. Certain acts of violence make the head spin, all while the film unspools its relentless visual beauty.
